JUNIORS DIVISION 2 TOURNAMENT: Here is the bracket for the Division 2 Tournament 7/27 - The HMB Juniors won their third game of the tournament, defeating Petaluma National 10-2. Next game will be played on Wednesday 7/28 at 7:00 PM against Hollister. 7/26 - The HMB Juniors won their second game of the tournament, defeating Chico Westside 15-1. Next game will be played on Tuesday 7/27 at 5:00 PM against Petaluma National. 7/24 - The HMB Juniors team lost their first game of the tournament, falling to Hollister 10-1. Next game will be played on Monday 7/26 at 5:00 PM against Chico Westside. SECTION 3 CHAMPIONS: Congratulations to the HMB Juniors All-Stars Section 3 Champions! 7/22 - Brett Berghammer homered on the first pitch of the game to score one of five runs in the first inning for HMB. The HMB Juniors All-Stars held the lead for the rest of the game, beating District 14 Niles-Centerville, 8-5, to win the Section 3 Junior Little League title. (Read full story in the San Mateo Daily Journal) Half Moon Bay advances to the Divisional Tournament, playing Hollister at 8 p.m., Saturday at American River College in Sacramento. JUNIORS ADVANCE TO SECTION 3 CHAMPIONSHIP GAME: The HMBLL Juniors All-Star Team, representing District 52 in the Section 3 Tournament being played in Fremont, will play in the championship game. The game will be played on Thursday 7/22, 5:30 PM at Gomes Elementary School. Here is bracket and location information for the Section 3 Tournament 7/19 - The Juniors team won their third game to advance to the Section 3 Championship Game, defeating District 45 Mt. Eden 8-2. Mike Rupert pitched into the 6th inning and Zac LeBlanc came in to close out the game. HMB was able to hold on to a 1-run lead in both of the first 2 games in the tournament: 7/18 - HMB defeated District 14 Niles-Centerville in Game Two, 10-9. 7/17 - HMB defeated District 57 San Ramon in Game One, 5-4. Neil Sterling's solo homer tied the game in the 7th forcing the game into extra innings. Brett Berghammer and Sterling combined for the win on the mound. 7/8 - The 11-12YO team won their fourth game with another exciting victory over Hillsborough, final score 10-9. Joaquin Preciado hit a grand slam in the 4th inning and then hit a walk-off single to win the game for HMB. They now play in the Championship game on Saturday 7/10 @ 10:00 AM. 7/1 - The 9-10YO Team team lost their second and final game against Alpine/West Menlo. Thank you to the players and coaches for representing HMB! 6/30 - The 11-12YO team won their second game with an exciting 5-4 victory over Palo Alto National. Jake Salinero hit a 3-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the six inning to lift HMB. Next game is Monday 7/5 @ 5:30. 6/30 - The 10-11YO team tasted their first loss in their third game, a 7-12 loss against Belmont/Redwood Shores. Next game is Monday 7/5 @ 5:30. 6/27 - The 9-10YO team lost their first game in a hard-fought game against Menlo/Atherton. The game went into extra innings with the final score 9-8. Next game is Thursday 7/1 @ 5:00. 6/27 - The 10-11YO team won their second game, a 11-7 victory against Alpine/West Menlo. Next game is Tuesday 6/29 @ 5:30. 6/26 - Congratulation to the 11-12YO team for winning their first game, a 7-5 victory against Redwood City National.
